The MG felt is also called cylinder top felt, it's used for Yankee dryer support roll. It's used for producing special paper, thin paper and tissue paper. It has extremely strict requirements for the high temperature and aging resistance, wear resistance and batt removal resistance, dimensional stability, surface smoothness, and water filtration and breathability of the MG felt, which plays a critical role in the quality of the paper produced.

The MG felt produced by SUN HONG in the early days was a second-generation paper making felt that replaced the BOB felt. Compared with the BOB paper machine felt, it has obvious advantages such as high line pressure resistance, good elasticity recovery, wear resistance, good water filtration and breathability, and long service life. However, during use, it still cannot meet the requirements for some special paper types. There are also disadvantages such as excessive initial water content, long initial adaptation time, insufficient surface smoothness and delicacy, batt lossing and shedding situation, and poor water filtration and breathability caused by the MG felt losing elasticity in a short period of time.

To this end, the technical personnel of SUN HONG have absorbed the experience of advanced foreign felt production companies based on the original MG felt process technical parameters, combined with the requirements of paper machine use and the performance changes of different papers, and made reasonable adjustments to the bottom mesh structure, fiber layer thickness, and layer layout of the paper machine MG felt ; Reasonably set up the needle punching process, combing and laying process, and shaping process; Reasonable improvements were made to key equipment, resulting in a significant improvement in performance of the final product, eliminating some of the drawbacks of the original product.
