What is Paper Sheet Crushing ?

Paper sheet crushing refers to the formation of fluid pressure in wet paper sheets due to pressure in the nip zone. Under the influence of fluid pressure, the moisture in the paper sheet is discharged outward. If the drainage is not smooth, it will disrupt the arrangement of fibers in the wet paper sheet. This phenomenon is called "crushing" .

The wear of paper-making felt can be divided into uniform wear and localized wear. The causes of felt wear include: newly replaced vacuum suction box covers, insufficient needle punching tightness of the felt, too light setting, excessive vacuum degree of the vacuum suction box, no lubricating water between the felt and the vacuum suction box cover, improper material selection or excessive friction coefficient of the vacuum suction box cover, and the use of the felt for a long time until the later stage. Corresponding measures should be taken for the above different reasons.

4. Paper Crushing Caused by Poor Operating Condition of Press Felt

The operating states of paper-making felt mainly include: the tension state of the felt; the transverse contraction state of the felt; the straightness state of the felt's standard line; the flatness state of the felt surface, etc. Factors such as too little tension in the felt, excessive transverse contraction, air leaks in the vacuum suction box, deformation and bending of the felt's standard line, and uneven tension in the felt's base fabric can all easily lead to uneven dewatering of wet paper sheets, resulting in crushing. To solve this problem, it is also necessary to identify the causes and take targeted measures.
