In the process of paper making, incorrect washing and maintenance of press felt can lead to early dirt, blockage, and decreased water filtration performance of the press felt. The harm of reduced water filtration performance caused by dirt blockage in paper making felt is very significant. Therefore, maintaining a good clean state of press felt during the production process is the key to ensuring that the felt have high water filtration performance.

The following is about the impact of clogging and uneven washing of paper making felts on the entire production process:

    1. Due to clogging and uneven washing of the felt, it has uneven light and dark stripes, resulting in uneven dehydration and horizontal moisture content of the felt, which leads to poor paper quality; If there is sediment on the surface of the felt, it will leave spots or holes on the paper.

    2. Due to the blockage caused by dirt and dirt on the felt, its pore volume and porosity decrease significantly, leading to a decrease in water filtration performance. This can easily cause the wet paper sheet to collapse in the compression zone.

    3. Due to severe blockage of the press felt, the efficiency of vacuum dewatering will decrease on the vacuum press roll or vacuum suction box, resulting in an abnormal increase in the vacuum degree of the vacuum suction box, which increases the friction between the felt and the vacuum box, increases the load on the paper machine, and exacerbates the wear of the felt.

    4. Due to the blockage of the felt, its water filtration performance is abnormal, resulting in an increase in the number of paper breaks in the pressure zone of wet paper sheets.

    5. Due to the influence of the water filtration performance of the felt, the moisture content of the wet paper sheet during pressing will significantly increase, and the speed of the paper machine will decrease accordingly, resulting in a decrease in output.

    6. In the press section, the amount of water removed from the paper sheet decreases, while the amount of water released increases, which increases the load on the dryer.

    7. In order to improve the dryness of the paper press section, the line pressure is increased, or the pressure of high-pressure water is increased, or the vacuum degree is increased to compensate for the low porosity. This increases the wear of the felt and reduces its service life.
