    Before Using The Press Felt

    1. Correct selection of press felt : Choose the appropriate felt based on the equipment conditions and the products being produced.

    2. Correct the roller spacing to ensure that the standard line is straight, not skewed, and prevent folding.

    3. Recognize the front and back side of press felt:Due to different layering methods, the felts are divided into front and back sides. Sun Hong felts have the words "front" on front sides, and the front side must be in the direction indicated by the outward arrow, consistent with the direction of the paper machine's operation. The tension of the press felt must be moderate to prevent excessive tension or looseness.

It is generally recommended to wash and press the new paper making felt with 3-5% soap alkali for 2 hours, and it is better to use warm water at around 60 ℃. The softening time for producing new thin paper blankets by air rolling after being soaked with water on the machine should be around 2-4 hours. Do not press the felt without being soaked in water.

    During Using The Press Felt

    1. When using the press felt, be sure not to let the oil and mud on the shaft head stick to the surface of the felt.

    2. Needle punched press felt contain a high amount of chemical fibers and should not be washed with concentrated acid.

    3. Needle punched press felt have a high moisture content. When embossing occurs, the vacuum suction or extrusion roller line pressure can be increased, and the lower pressure roller is equipped with a drainage shovel force knife to discharge water from both sides and reduce the moisture content of the paper.

    4. Short fibers and fillers in pulp can easily clog felts and cause embossing. Two sided water spray washing and increased flushing pressure can be used, preferably through a hot water tank at around 45 degrees Celsius for rolling washing. Do not use a hard brush to brush the felt during washing.

    5. Needle punched press felt are flat and thick, not easily folded, and should not be stretched too tightly. If the felts is too wide to be pulled, it should be trimmed with an electric soldering iron or cut with scissors and then sealed with an electric soldering iron.

    Storage Methods of Press Felt

    1. The felt should be stored separately from chemical and other materials to prevent corrosion and damage to the felts.

    2. The place where felts are stored should be dry and ventilated, and should be placed flat, preferably not upright, to prevent the phenomenon of one side being loose and the other being tight.

    3. The felts should not be stored for too long, as the characteristics of chemical fibers have a significant impact on the size changes of the felt during prolonged storage.
