How to Use Paper Machine Felt?

1. Before Install on The Paper Machine

① Check if the packaging is complete.

② Check whether the product number, specifications, quantity, etc. marked on the package header are the same as the order content.

③ Open the packaging and inspect the appearance, quality, specifications, and dimensions of the felt, verify its quality, and check the running arrow.   

2. Installation

① Clean the relevant parts of the paper machine.

② Clearly see the front and back of the paper making felt and its direction of operation.

③ Prevent oil contamination and hard object damage to the felt.

④ Eliminate forceful pulling and pulling.

3. Idle Operation

After a certain period of time and pressure, the new felt can be pre compressed and air rotated, which not only washes away the floating hair on the surface of the felt, improves the flatness of the felt surface, and removes the oil stains that may have been attached when replacing the felt, but also improves the compactness of the felt, making the permeability of the felt closer to the optimal state.

① Spread the felt evenly across all parts.

② Wet the felt evenly and thoroughly with clean water.

③ Tighten the felt appropriately.

④ Check the flattening status of all rollers and felts.

⑤ Apply a certain amount of pressure.

⑥ The paper machine running.

⑦ Tighten the felt again.

⑧ Apply pressure to normal pressure.

⑨ Clean or soften the felt with about 3% hot alkaline water.

⑩ Turn on the washing water and vacuum system.

4. Key Points for Startup Operation

① Check the condition of the equipment and felts before starting up. Whether the doctor blade is tight, the cleaning of the working range and felt circuit, felt washing system and wet paper damage system, etc. If it is a startup after maintenance, the felt needs to be washed first; If it is a newly replaced felt, it should be kept in a moderately tensioned state.   

② The upper press roller can only be turned on after it has fallen down. Before the felt is tensioned and when it is just turned on, the starting speed should be slower, then gradually increased, and the tension level of the felt should be adjusted according to the situation to correct the running status of the felt.   

③ After the paper pick up   is normal, the pressing pressure should be kept evenly consistent on both sides, and attention should be paid to the operation of the felt and the condition of the paper web. If any paper defects are found, they should be promptly contacted with the upper and lower processes for treatment.   

④ Pay attention to operational safety. When correcting the deviation of the felt or handling the folding of the felt, do not insert your body into the felt. If you find that the felt is sticky and sticky, do not use your hands to pick it. You can use water to rinse it. If it is serious, stop the machine or reduce the speed for treatment; It is not allowed to manually remove foreign objects from the felt at the entrance where it comes into contact with the running direction of various components.

⑤ After running for a period of time, if the felt becomes dirty and causes a decrease in water filtration capacity, it can be washed with water to enhance the washing process. Preparation should be made in advance before washing, and the speed and pressure should be reduced. It is not advisable to use a brush to scrub the surface of the felt.

⑥ Pay attention to checking the operation of the equipment and make records.

5. Shutdown Operation

① Before stopping the machine, the felt should be cleaned thoroughly, while keeping the workplace and equipment clean and promptly removing debris.

② The upper press roller must be lifted after the machine is stopped, and the press roller must be in a loose pressure state.

③ If the felt is not replaced after shutdown, it should be loosened.

6. Daily Maintenance

① To prevent the felt from being folded, unevenly worn, washed unevenly, and accidentally damaged.

② Correctly use high-pressure water, fan-shaped water, and vacuum washing boxes.

③ Strengthen the continuous and regular washing of felts, and use chemical detergents reasonably.

④ When the downtime is long, wash the felt clean and relax it.

⑤ After stopping the machine, check the wear of the press roller, as well as the working condition of various rollers, felt calibrators, tensioning devices, roller bearings, pressure devices, press roll doctor blade and other equipment.

⑥ Each roller should be regularly ground according to the operation of the paper machine.

⑦ The equipment in the press section should be kept clean, the transmission part should be flexible, and attention should be paid to bearing lubrication.
