The main purpose of cleaning fiber cement board felt is to remove dirt and restore their water filtration performance, thereby ensuring the quality and production efficiency of fiber cement board. According to the degree of pollution and production requirements of felt, cleaning methods are mainly divided into two categories: mechanical cleaning and chemical cleaning, which usually need to be combined to achieve the best results.
Mechanical Cleaning Method of Fiber Cement Board Felt
Mechanical cleaning mainly loosens and removes dirt through physical means, and is the main means of daily maintenance and fly cleaning.
High pressure water spray cleaning: Use a high-pressure nozzle (usually at a pressure of 0.6-2.5MPa) to spray water onto the felt, dispersing small fibers, fillers, and other dirt on the surface. The nozzle will move horizontally along the felt to ensure uniform cleaning throughout the entire area. After high-pressure flushing, low-pressure water must be used for cleaning to eliminate water marks and protect the structure of the fiber cement board felt.
Low pressure fan-shaped spray: After high-pressure flushing, use a low-pressure (0.2-0.6MPa) fan-shaped spray pipe to spray clean water, further flushing loose dirt and forming a uniform water film on the surface of the felt, which provides lubrication and reduces wear.
Vacuum suction box: Used in conjunction with a spray system, it efficiently removes moisture and dirt from felts through vacuum suction, making it an indispensable part of mechanical cleaning.
Felt press roll: The fiber cement board felt is squeezed by a rubber roll and a hard roll to remove moisture and some dirt. It is commonly used in fiber cement board machines with lower speeds.
Chemical Cleaning Methods of Fiber Cement Board Felt
When mechanical cleaning cannot effectively remove stubborn dirt (such as resin, adhesives, mineral deposits), chemical cleaning is required, usually performed when the machine is stopped.
Alkaline cleaning agent: It used to decompose organic pollutants such as lignin, resin, starch, etc. Common ingredients include sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and nonionic surfactants, with a pH value typically between 10-12.
Acidic cleaning agent: used to remove inorganic deposits such as aluminum hydroxide, aluminum sulfate, calcium carbonate, rosin gum, etc. Common ingredients include sulfuric acid (H2SO4) or hydrochloric acid (HCI).
Special cleaning agent: There are composite cleaning agents designed specifically for fiber cement board felt on the market, which combine surfactants, chelating agents, and other ingredients to simultaneously remove organic and inorganic dirt, and have low corrosiveness to felt and equipment. When in use, it can be added to low-pressure spray water at a concentration of 300-600ppm for fly felt cleaning, or diluted by 4-10% for soaking and cleaning.
Oxidant treatment: For carbonized sediments, oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite can be used for decomposition.
Enzyme assisted cleaning: For biofilm fouling, a mixture of cellulase and protease can be used for biodegradation.
